Whining about your wine bottle? Don’t, here’s a how-to on opening one.

It’s a beautiful spring day during the COVID-19 stay at home order.  What to do? Have a glass of wine of course!

Greg Buffington, bartender and former manager of the Gold Standard wine shops in Chicago tells us how to open a wine bottle.  Buffington gives us 7 easy steps below.

  1. Place the knife of the corkscrew under the lip of the bottle and turn the bottle to score and remove foil.

2. Position corkscrew in center of cork and twist clockwise.

3. Place the first step of the corkscrew onto the lip of the bottle.

4. Lift handle until cork is halfway out.

5. Repeat using the second step of the corkscrew, pulling until the cork is almost out.

6. Use your hand to pull the cork all the way out.

7. Enjoy

Pro tip – If all else fails, buy a bottle with a twist cap!
